Cliff diving returns to its roots on a tiny volcanic island in the mid-Atlantic

Following a men’s thriller in Bilbao, the women will be back alongside them once more as cliff diving returns to its roots at the third stop of the season in the Portuguese Azores. A tiny volcanic islet is the majestic setting, and two of the four competition dives will be made from the pure rocks. This is the only location on the calendar where the athletes will leap directly from the cliff face, just as the pioneers of this amazing sport did hundreds of years ago.Watch the clip above for a little preview of what’s in store when cliff diving returns to the Azores on July 14.Watch it Live
