Para a Cueca are the Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five 2019 Champions
Towards defending the title, Para a Cueca qualified first in their group with 7 points and, in the quarterfinals, beat Pracimadeles F.C 5-0. In the semi-finals, marked by the presence of three teams from Vila Nova de Gaia, Para Cueca met Tripeiros 1893, winners of the competition in 2016 and 2017. In a match that already has Classic status in Red Bull Neymar Jr’s national competition Five, the reigning champions ended up winning 1-0 one-on-one after an intense and close game.
In the final, the now two-time champions gave the Red Bull Stars finalists no chance, who reached the final match after beating Rinchoa FC and Follow the Ball in the quarterfinals. 1-0 came quickly for Para a Cueca, who then controlled the game completely and easily increased their lead to the final 5-0.
In the 3rd place match, Tripeiros 1893 secured the last podium position with a 5-0 win over Segue o Baile.
From Lisbon, Para a Cueca, they go to Brazil to once again fight for the World trophy at the Projeto Neymar Jr Institute, in Praia Grande, São Paulo. And they promise: “From what we learned last year, this year we can only do better!”
